01 — A little about me

Curiosity, not judgement.

I’ve always been drawn to people’s stories — the experiences that have shaped them, the things they carry quietly, the parts of themselves they don’t always feel able to share with the world.

Counselling is not only a way of working through a problem. It is a space where you can begin to understand yourself more deeply, where what you bring is met with curiosity rather than judgement. A space where you don’t have to have the right words, make sense of everything, or be anything other than who you are.

I’m a qualified and experienced integrative counsellor, working from a person-centred perspective. Each person’s experience is unique, so I draw on a range of counselling theories and adapt the work to what feels right for you.

Ways of working together

Whether you are looking for support with a particular difficulty, navigating change in a relationship, or wanting to understand yourself more deeply, there are different ways we can work.

01

Individual counselling

One-to-one work: a space to explore personal challenges, emotions and the patterns that keep returning.

02

Couples and relationships

Difficulties with partners, family, friends or colleagues — understanding triggers, improving communication and boundaries.

03

Children and young people

Counselling for children and young people, working at their pace and in a way that fits their age and understanding.

03 — How it works

What sessions look like

The first session

We begin with an initial consultation: what brings you, what you would like to be different, and whether working together feels right. You don’t have to arrive with it all worked out.

Length and rhythm

Each session is 50 minutes, normally at the same time each week. A regular weekly commitment tends to support the work.

Short term or longer

Short term work is typically 6–12 sessions. Longer term therapy may be 30+ sessions, and many clients come for around 15. However long we work together, we review regularly.

Confidentiality

What you share with me is treated as confidential. There are a couple of exceptions, which I will discuss with you during our first session.

Where we meet

Online only at present — by Zoom or telephone — with clients across the UK. The practice is based in St Pauls, Bristol.

04 — Who I work with

Identity, belonging, difference

Cross-cultural counselling

Culture, identity and lived experience shape how we see ourselves and how we move through the world. People from different ethnic, cultural and minority backgrounds can face particular difficulties around identity, belonging, discrimination and feeling understood.

My work is informed by lived experience of the challenges people may face around racial identity, LGBTQIA+ identity, chronic illness, neurodiversity and caring responsibilities. I aim to offer a welcoming, non-judgemental space where you can explore your experience and express yourself as you are.

Neurodivergent-affirming practice

As a neurodivergent-affirming counsellor, I recognise that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. I adapt my methods and communication style to how you process emotion, interact with the world and navigate relationships — whether that means more structure, more flexibility, or different ways of exploring what is difficult.

Autism, ADHD, dyslexia and other cognitive and neurological differences shape how a person thinks, feels and engages with others. Sessions are a place to be seen and supported, free of any pressure to conform.

“It is you who is the expert in your life.”

05 — Counselling supervision

Supervision for counsellors

I also offer clinical supervision to counsellors and to professionals in the caring professions — newly qualified and established.

My approach to supervision is integrative and relational, underpinned by the Seven-Eyed Model of Supervision. It gives us a framework for looking at the therapeutic relationship, your client’s experience, your own responses as a practitioner, and the wider dynamics around the work — opening up different perspectives rather than following a rigid structure.

I hold an Advanced Diploma in Counselling Supervision. My experience spans schools, youth services, charities, organisations and private practice, with children, young people and adults.

I also work creatively in supervision where that suits you — imagery, metaphor, visual resources and creative exercises can reach what is hard to put into words. Above all, I want supervision to be a collaborative relationship where you can be honest, curious and open to challenge without feeling judged.
